Cheers to Perpetuity!

Year Three of the JamJar Project brought in more donations from our Angels than it did the previous year. And that is a great reason to celebrate because despite the fact that most of our Angels were affected by SuperTyphoon Yolanda in November 2013, they still selflessly shared their blessings with our scholars (who are also from Yolanda-stricken Leyte!).

The total donations we received was P171,200.00, and although we did not achieve our original goal of doubling Year Two's donations, we are still very grateful for all the help we got.

This cycle marks our Fourth Year of being involved in the JamJar Project. And this year, we have a different goal in mind.

For a couple of years since we first started the JamJar Project, we have granted scholarships to some CITE students from Leyte through CITE's Tuition and Fees Scholarship and Student Assistance Package. For the coming term, we are hoping to finally put up our share in CITE's Perpetual Scholarship Trust Fund.

The Perpetual Scholarship Trust Fund is a fund managed by CITE and composed of the Perpetual scholarships granted to students of the Industrial Technician Program (ITP). The Fund shall be managed as an endowment for the ITP. The income from the Fund provides a permanent yet flexible source of support for the ITP students.

To put up the fund, we need to gather a total of at least Php 150,000 from kind and generous hearts, and once we do, we start supporting one scholar every year on a perpetual basis. This isn't really much of a challenge for us because we were able to get donations of more than P150,000 for the past two years, right?

So, in short, the goal is this: The JamJar Project will occupy a spot in CITE's Perpetual Scholarship Benefactors board (see the pic below?)

Let's all continue to share our blessings through the JamJar Project and enjoin others who are willing to share their blessings as well so that we can help a deserving scholar have a chance at a better life every year. Let's strive to be on that list by 2015!
